Shipping (South Africa)

Free Domestic Shipping

Our goal is for you to receive your purchsae as quickly and safely as possible.

We ship by free Overnight Express to main centers in South Africa for any orders received and fully paid by 1pm on weekdays, with either The Courier Guy or Aramex.

Expect delivery between 1 - 2 business days on business days (Monday - Friday).

Please make sure you are available to sign for your order personally and you may need to provide the courier with identification.

Same Day Shipping

Same day shipping to major centers in South Africa is available for a fee for orders placed before 10am.

Tracking

We’ll email you as soon as your order ships, including delivery details and tracking. Delivery timeframes are counted from dispatch, not from the time you placed the order. You can follow your parcel’s progress via the courier company's website.

Packaging

Shoe Boxes

Each pair is carefully packed in our custom-designed, sturdy white shoe box—clean lines, crisp edges, and built to protect. Inside, the shoes rest in soft tissue with individual dust bags to prevent scuffs and preserve shape, so your heels arrive in pristine condition and stay beautiful wear after wear.

Returns & Refunds (South Africa)

Your Rights Under South African Law

This policy is in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA).
You are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if the product you receive is defective, unsafe, or not of good quality, as defined by the CPA.

A product is considered defective if, at the time of delivery, it:

  • Has a material manufacturing fault or defect.
  • Fails to perform in the way it is intended.
  • Does not match the description, sample, or demonstration model shown to you.
Non-Defective Goods – Exchanges

Because our shoes are luxury fashion items and made in limited quantities, we generally do not offer refunds for change of mind, incorrect size selection, or buyer’s remorse.

We may, at our sole discretion, offer an exchange or store credit if:

  • The shoes are returned within 7 days of purchase.
  • They are unworn, unused, and in their original condition with the protective stickers intact, untampered security tags attached, with all packaging, dust bags, and accessories included.
  • Proof of purchase is provided.

Note: Shoes showing any sign of wear, stretching, scuffing, or sole marking, or if the security mark has been removed (if attached) will not be eligible for exchange. Detailed photographs are taken before all shoes are being shipped and will be compared against items returned.

Sale, promotional, discounted items or special orders and bespoke shoes are considered final sale and are not eligible for refund, exchange, or store credit, unless found to be defective in terms of the Consumer Protection Act. Any defect that was disclosed to the customer prior to purchase will not qualify for return under the CPA.

Defective or Damaged Goods

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA), you have the right to return goods that are defective, unsafe, or not of good quality within six (6) months from the date of delivery.

If you believe your shoes are defective, you must:

  • Notify us in writing within the 6-month period, providing proof of purchase and clear photographs of the issue.
  • Return the shoes to our boutique for physical inspection.

If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, you may choose to have the shoes:

  1. Repaired, or
  2. Replaced with the same style and size (subject to availability), or
  3. Refunded in full if repair or replacement is not possible.

Important exclusions: The following are not considered defects under the CPA:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, exposure to water, rough surfaces, or unsuitable storage.
  • Stretching or creasing from wear.
  • Failure to follow our care instructions.

Shoes returned for inspection but found not defective will be returned to the customer at their cost.

Special Orders & Bespoke Shoes

Orders for customised or made-to-measure shoes are final sale and may not be returned or exchanged unless they are defective under the CPA.

Refund Processing
  • Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 7–10 business days.
  • Shipping costs (if applicable) and import / export duties are non-refundable, unless the return is due to a proven manufacturing defect.
How to Initiate a Return

To arrange a return, exchange, or inspection:

  • Visit our boutique at 88 Bree Street, Cape Town, South Africa, or
  • Email info@budism.com or Whatsapp +27 600 660 188 with your order details and photographs of the shoes.
  • If your return is approved, we will send you a the courier waybill for printing and arrange for a courier pickup.
  • Return shipping fees can either be deducted from your credit or paid upfront with a payment link.

International

Shipping

We ship internationally by FEDEX Express for any orders received and fully paid by 1pm on weekdays.

Expect delivery usually between 4 - 8 business days on business days (Monday - Friday). Due to international shipping and customs procedures we cannot provide an exact delivery time.

Please make sure you are available to sign for your order personally and you may need to provide the courier with identification.

Tracking

VAT and customs charges vary by destination and may be applied when your order arrives in the recipient country. Customers in Namibia and Botswana will typically pay only the local VAT applicable to the delivery country and should be exempt from customs duties. Please note, BUDISM COUTURE cannot control or accept responsibility for any VAT or customs fees—these are set by your local customs authority.

Our heels are classified under the following HS codes: 

HS 6403.59 (“Other footwear with outer soles of leather and uppers of leather”) and 

HS 6404.20 (“Footwear with outer soles of leather or composition leather and uppers of textile materials”).

The customs value is based on the amount you paid for the item, converted into South African Rand (ZAR).

Taxes & Duties

VAT and customs charges vary by destination and may be applied when your order arrives in the recipient country.
